Here are some of my favourite picture books from my childhood;
* Anamalia by Graeme Base – I used to love hidden picture books, kept me entertained for hours. The illustrations are beautiful.
* Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak – Everything about this book makes it a classic
* Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss – My dad used to read this to me when I was young. Green Eggs, genius!
* The Jolly Postman, or Other People’s Letters by Janet Ahlberg & Allan Ahlberg- I remember fighting other kids to borrow this book from the library. I loved reading everyone’s mail.
* Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy by Lynley Dodd – The rhyming and all the different dog characters made this book so entertaining
* Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill – The original and best lift- the- flap book
* Grug by Ted Prior – Grug is the funniest looking character but I adored his adventures in those tiny sized books
* John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat by Jenny Wagner – A touching tale that used to break my heart
