Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare – A quick Review

There are many reasons why I should not like this book (and series) as much as I do.  I am not a teenager anymore and I do not like romantic tales where the characters express their love more than once throughout a story.  I really don’t like romances full stop.

These things aside, I  really enjoyed reading Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare and the entire  ‘The Internal Devices‘ series.

For one they are easy to read because the story flows so nicely and there is always action taking place which makes you want to find out what is going happen at all times.  Although the book is quite lengthy at 568 pages, it took me no time at all to get through it which fit nicely into my reading schedule (my stack of books aren’t going to read themselves).

The characters although at times slightly unbelievable and a little too dramatic were still interesting with their different personalities and issues.  I particularly liked the character of Cecily (Will’s sister).

The plot (this time I won’t give away any spoilers) wrapped up the series nicely with enough action to please readers while at the same time leaving them entirely satisfied with the ending.  It also fits incredibly well with her other series (City of Bones) and I comend the author for keeping such good track of all of her story lines.  Not an easy thing to do with so many characters and story lines twisting and turning at every corner.
